Insecurity is a mentality that many people struggle with daily. Insecurity about appearances, performances, and abilities can cause a person to be disingenuous. Though being doubtful about oneself is a strong complex, we must strive to be genuine. Our behavior to God, self, and amongst our peers should be real. Regardless of others I believe this is honorable behavior. No one can be a better you than you!
Think of it this way, have you ever seen a commercial for a restaurant on television or online? The food looks savory and delicious. Only to go that advertised restaurant and get a meal that was nothing like the advertisement. It is such a let down!
Likewise, it is disappointing and shameful to be something that in truth you are not. Be who God made you to be and do not be a fake or copy of someone that is unjust. God made us different and unique for His glory. Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
