God desires His church, leaders, and even young people to grow up or mature. How would you feel if you remained the same age this year at your birthday? Well, the same way you expect to grow in age each year, God expects you to mature and grow up in every area of life.
Sadly, some people are more comfortable staying the same instead of growing, expanding, and elevating. It is time to grow up! Amos 6:1 Woe to you who are at ease in Zion,.
The Lord cannot do nor can He release the promises of God into the lives of His people that are petty, childish, carnal. 1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
You cannot pray, fast, or wish childishness away, it must be put away. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
If you get mad and leave the church when the preacher declares the truth, grow up! If you do not receive the truth when corrected, grow up! If you do not allow the Word to renew your mind from the ways of the world, grow up!
Let us lay aside babyish ways and run the Christian race and endure whatever tries to hinder us maturing in Christ! Hebrew 12:2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
