When someone intentionally does or says something to invoke a response, I call that a trigger moment.
Trigger moments can make you angry, cause internal reflection, or before you know it you might act out of character. It takes maturity and self-control not to respond in an ungodly manner when a trigger moment happens.
Responding by cursing someone out, overreacting, and being quickly enraged are signs that the flesh is in control and not the Spirit of God. We must learn to rule our spirit and not get caught up during a trigger moment.
Don’t allow someone to pull your trigger. Proverbs 14:9 He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.
