Noticeably Different

We live in a time where many people claim to be children of God, but in truth they are not.  1 John 3:10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.  This is why it is important for true worshipers of God to stand up and represent Christ boldly.

The lifestyle of the Godly should be obviously different from the lifestyle of people that do not know God through Jesus Christ.  How we behave in private and public is important.  We should make it our business to be genuine in our walk with God regardless of the setting and surroundings.  2 Corinthians 5:9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.

Here are a couple of ways to be confident in Christ when in public:

  1. Remember who you are in Christ and daily walk therein without hypocrisy.  Mark 7:6 He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
  2. Be happy and rejoice in knowing that you are saved. Romans 5:11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Being noticeably different in Christ because of the change He has worked in us should be like a badge of honor.  Don’t be intimidated or influenced by people to disregard Godly standards, simply for acceptance.  Instead, let your transformation and difference in thinking, conversation, and behavior be a beacon of inspiration and hope to others.  Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
