There is a saying we have at my church, “The best and safest place to be is in the will of God”. I have learned that this is very true. I have experienced depression, fear, worry, jealousy, and lack on my journey. However, none can compare to the fulfillment and peace I have when I know I am in God’s will.
For many, 2020 has been traumatic, hopeless, and depressing. I have even heard people say that 2020 should be cancelled and 2021 can’t come quick enough. Now, I must confess that I have had my share of hardship in 2020, but God has been good to me and others during “Rona”. And I believe the Lord has more goodness and better things in store before the end of the year. But nonetheless, when a person is in God’s will they know that everything is well. Romans 8:28 says, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Being in God’s will does not make a person immune to the troubles and trials of life. We all experience problems, setbacks, and unforeseen trouble. This is common. It’s called life. Jesus said it like this in John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” But through it all we can still be productive, have peace, and prosper.

So whether your loved ones are ill, your marriage has hit a rough spot, your kids are acting crazy, you are feeling depressed, or your income is shot, just take a moment and ask yourself, “I am still in the will of God”? Remember, being in the will of God does not men you are flawless. But living in God’s will means you are striving daily to live by faith or according to God’s Word. If so, regardless of the storms of life you are in the best and safest place you can possible be.
So if the best and safest place in this season is in a major storm, stay in the storm. Let the Lord bring you through it. Don’t fear. Speak life. Keep praying. Stay in God’s church. Walk by faith (God’s Word and not by sight). Rebuke those ungodly imaginations that come from within, cut off negative people, and trust in the Lord. Expect the Lord to bless you in the mist of your storm! He can do that because He is God! Who or what can stop stop His hand from moving in your life? Know that God cares about you and He will do what He promised in His Word. Stay in the will of God.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
